New 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata – Performance
A Roadster Without Compromises
The 2019 MX-5 Miata offers even more exhilaration with a significant upgrade in horsepower from 155 hp to 181 hp, as well as an increased redline to 7,500 rpm. Offering even more performance to enrich the drive and prime your senses.
Lighter By Design
The MX-5 Miata is nearly a half-inch lower in height and has trimmed off 141 pounds1 from the previous generation, bringing its curb weight down to 2,339 pounds for manual transmission models. Even the window glass is lighter. You may not see it, but you’ll feel it, as SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY contributes to the MX-5 Miata’s lightness and responsiveness. In and out of every corner.
The MX-5 Miata’s 6-speed manual transmission is smaller and lighter than the previous generation’s, but keeps its fam short-throw precision. Or choose the 6-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters.
Highly rigid yet incredibly lightweight, the SKYACTIV®-Chassis resists torsion during aggressive cornering and plays a key role in the MX-5 Miata’s celebrated nimbleness and stability.
New 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata – Design
With its sleek lines, captivating design and cloth-lined soft top the MX-5 Miata convertible is inspired by classic roadsters of the 1960s. Whether you choose classic Black or the new available Brown, the MX-5 Miata fits your style with the top up or down.
Top Down, Heart Rate Up.
The MX-5 Miata’s iconic soft top can be unlocked and dropped in one step and with one hand, right from the driver’s seat. Should the weather, or your preference, change the “assist spring” mechanism makes closing the top just as easy.
In designing the latest-gen MX-5 Miata, we were careful to include subtle callbacks to past models. The taillights are a prime example. But to modernize the MX-5 Miata, we reduced their vertical height. The result is an even sleeker, more compact design.
Fitting the headlights into the MX-5 Miata’s aggressively shaped body with its short overhangs meant reinventing the headlight. The position of the LED low beam, the parabolic-type LED high beam and the turn signal layout produce more intensity and better visibility for a more enriched and safer drive.
New 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata – History
By pushing our cars to the extreme in fast-paced and unforgiving environments, we learn valuable lessons about safety, performance, efficiency and reliability. And that translates into a more enriching experience for you, both on the road and on the track. After all, more Mazdas are road-raced on any given weekend than any other car.
30 Years Of Miata
The 30th anniversary of the MX-5 Miata is fast approaching. And our appreciation and dedication to its roadster heritage has never been stronger. This legacy has made the Miata the best-selling roadster of all time.
A Truly Connected Drive
Imagine an archer on horseback, riding toward a target. He inhales and exhales in perfect harmony with his horse’s gait. The horse steadies as the archer pulls back his arrow. Perfect shot. This relationship between horse and rider is called Jinba Ittai. It’s a 900-year-old Japanese tradition, but it’s more important to us now than ever. We strive to engineer this connection into each and every one of our cars. The MX-5 Miata, being a true driver’s car, is certainly no exception.
Join The Club
Unwavering love for the MX-5 Miata has spawned owners’ clubs all over the world, and we try to send the love right back by supporting them in any way we can. As a result, our calendars are filled with day trips, rallies, road runs, overnight excursions, track days, tech sessions, car talks and motorsports events. New 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata – Safety
Can A Few Blinking Lights Give You Peace Of Mind?
With available i-ACTIVSENSE® safety innovations, the answer is yes. They use advanced technologies like milliwave radars and cameras to give you a sixth sense for safety, helping alert you to hazards before they happen.
Blind Spot Monitoring
The available Blind Spot Monitoring helps detect objects in your blind spots and alerts you with a chime and warning light in the side mirror and in the available Active Driving Display. It also detects and warns you of fast-approaching vehicles that may enter a blind spot.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
When backing up, the available Rear Cross Traffic Alert helps detect a vehicle approaching from the side and promptly alerts the driver with an audible warning, as well as a visual warning, in either side mirror and the rearview camera display.
Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go
The available Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go maintains a set speed and minimum following distance from the traffic ahead. If the vehicle you’re following reduces speed, even down to a stop, your vehicle will automatically slow or stop as needed.
Smart Brake Support
The available Smart Brake Support helps detect vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists in your path. If an impact is predicted, the system will warn the driver and, if necessary, apply the brakes.
High Beam Control System
The available High Beam Control System helps the driver see better at night by maximizing opportunities to use the high beams. The system automatically switches to low beams when it detects oncoming traffic and/or a vehicle ahead.
Lane Departure Warning System
When traveling at speeds of 44 mph or higher, the available Lane Departure Warning System gives you a combination of audible, tactile and visual warnings when it detects that your vehicle is about to unintentionally depart from its lane.
The available Lane-keep Assist adds to the warnings of the Lane Departure Warning System. When it senses a potential unintentional lane departure, it will perform minor steering corrections to help prevent your vehicle from exiting the lane.
